This facility is associated to the proteomics platform of the University of Paris Descartes (3P5), which brings together the IFR 71 (Institute of Drug Sciences), 77 (Center for Psychiatry and Neuroscience, Ste Anne), 94 (Necker-Children Sick), 95 (Interdisciplinary Institute of Life Sciences of the Holy Fathers) and 116 (Cochin Institute).
Services
Anyone, whether from the public or private sector, wishing to take advantage of the mass services has to contact Patrice Gerardo or Julien Dairou to determine the feasibility of the analysis and the time required to obtain the raw data or the data interpreted by the mass service.
For technical and IT security reasons, only the mass service is entitled to exploit mass spectrometers. Nevertheless, the user can prepare the samples according to the recommendations of the mass service on site or not and he can also attend the analysis and / or the treatment of the data as appropriate.
Concerning the tarifs, it is advisable to contact the mass service to study the analytical problematic. In fact, the price depends on the machine time, the time of the personnel involved in obtaining and interpreting the data as well as the consumables involved.

Description
The UMR 8601 has a technical platform for small molecule analysis whose technological resource is mass spectrometry. This platform is equipped with an ion trap mass spectrometer (MS) (LCQ Advantage, ThermoFisher Scientific) and Orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometer (HR-MS, Exactive, Thermofisher). Two sources of ionization can be used on these devices, an electro-nebulization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI). A high performance liquid chromatography chain allows LC-MS coupling on each device. The main use of this device is the characterization of small organic molecules or small proteins and peptides, using Xcalibur software.
